Essay on "Mass panic may be worse than the corona virus itself".
Explanation:
With the worldwide pandemic of the Corona Virus or COVID-19, everyone is trying to stay safe and away from the possibility of getting infected. But despite all the warnings to not unnecessarily go out of the house, many people are still flaunting the restriction orders.
Especially in India, the very first rise in the case was met with a lockdown issued by the government. This put a stop to the immense gathering of people and even spread a sense of fear in the people. but as the months go by and the cases also increase rather than decrease, the people began to feel so eager to go out that they flaunt the orders, going to and fro wherever they want. Even during the very first phase of the lockdown, the Prime Minister's call of unity, the beating of utensils to show our appreciation for the frontline workers, the lighting of diyas were all met with an "over-the-top" reactions from the people.
Many people went to the streets, gathering and executing what the leader had asked, thereby neglecting the very essence of social-distancing. And amidst all that, there are also some people who believe the scarcity of food and essentials will occur, which led them to panic buying, not only in India but even in other countries. And the ones found infected with the virus were looked as if they have a deadly disease in them. This was and may even be worse than the virus itself. For it will only lead to more damage, fearing the people rather than the virus itself. And this will only lead to further disturbance in the community, leading to a much more dangerous case of panic, not for the virus but for the people.
