“We need to give each other the space to grow, to be ourselves, to exercise our diversity. We need to give each other space so that we may both give and receive such beautiful things as ideas, openness, dignity, joy, healing and inclusion.” - Max De Pree.

The month of December garnered and boosted creative writing skills of learners as they participated in Essay Writing Competition under the unifying umbrella of “Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat”. The activity essayed the culture and lifestyle of Sikkim. The primary purpose of \'Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat\' is to make students understand that India is a diverse land, and this is a valuable and an important asset for its citizens. Last month, the students learnt about Sikkim’s flag and monuments. This month, they learnt about festivals, food, customs and climate of Sikkim. They watched two videos related to Sikkim, where they discovered the old and traditional legacy of Sikkim. It was a unique experience for them as they were very excited to pen down their ideas and thoughts on paper. They also discussed their real-life experience, where they were engaged in learning about a new culture and how everyone can adopt a few unique and good practices from others. The activity will certainly go a long way helping learners become global citizens, respecting and accepting all diversities around.
