Yes, elections in India are free and fair because the elections are conducted by an independent Election Commission and all the parties accept the outcome of the elections. Usually, the losing party does not accept the outcome if the election is rigged.

Elections in India are not fully fair and free. Corruption and bribery still take place but the government is bringing rules and the improvements are taking place. Such as:
Every single person above the age of 18 can vote freely.
A person can vote only once and has a mark done on there nail which can’t be removed until a week after the election.
A ballet machine is used for the election which has symbols so that people who can’t read can see the symbol and vote for the right candidate.
There are a lot other rules and regulations there for the elections but these are the basics once.
As I said corruption and bribery is happening and to stop this from happening government is taking steps. Thus I wouldn’t say that the elections in India are fully fair and free.
