Answer:

The Asiatic cheetah is one of the world's most critically endangered big cats. Tan colour, speckled with characteristic black spots and weighing up to 143 pounds. Asiatic cheetahs are almost identical in appearance to their better known African cousins. However, there are subtle differences. Asiatic cheetahs are slightly more slender and have slightly longer legs. Moreover, because of the nature of these physical differences, some have speculated that Asiatic cheetahs might actually be faster than their African cousins. That said, as recently as 2009 it was argued that the Asiatic Cheetah was genetically identical to the African Cheetah. However, testing has since found that the two species are genetically distinct.

The Asiatic cheetah is a Critically Endangered cheetah subspecies surviving today only in Iran

Explanation:

  • The Asian Cheetah is a rare distinct species "critically endangered." From Arabia to India, like Afghanistan, it was once popular & widespread in its former territory in the South West Asia. The populace began to decline in the early 20th century & soon became endangered in several places. Recent reports indicate that only 70-100 live and most are in Iran. Furthermore, the Asian Cheetah is currently the only remaining big cats populations in Iran. Caspian tiger was once famous and in the last century already led to extinction.
  • Asiatic Cheetah, the world's fastest animal, prefers grasslands, savannah and semi-desert regions, as well as other open habitats where prey can be found. The Asiatic Cheetah's subspecies is currently found in Iran's Kavir desert region, including around six provinces, comprising Tehran, as well. There also appears to be provision of proys in the province of Balochistan, in Pakistan. With all-round growth, human communities, rising agriculture, decreasing habitats, and desertification are under threat to the animal's habitat..  The Asiatic cheetah, which once roamed parts of India, is now only found in Iran, where there are thought to be approximately  50 left.
