CAA

CAA stands for the Citizenship Amendment Act. This act was officially enacted by the Indian government in the year of 2019 (12th December). This act was enacted to legalize the citizenship of illegal immigrants of Hindu, Christian, Jain, Sikh, Buddhist and Parsi religions ; from the neighbouring countries like Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan ; who entered in our country before the year of 2014. However, this act was not applicable for the Muslim immigrants and that's why this act recieved mixed reviews from the different parts of our country. Many protests and criticisms were continuously going on against this act, during the pre-pandemic time period.
