Dandi march was the famous movement launched by Gandhiji to break salt law. As the British government imposed a tax on the salt and established British monopoly over its production, Gandhiji decided to break the salt law. So he walked for 24 days from the Sabarmati ashram to Gujarat coastal town of Dandi.

2. Gandhiji left his Sabarmati Ashram with about 79 others and began his more then 240 Mile long March towards Dandi on foot to break on manufacturing of side from the sea .

3. He completed this March in 24 days .

4. Thousands of people treated him on the way . On 6 April, Gandhiji broke the salt law by picking up salt from the sea . .

5. From this moment , the Civil Disobedience Movement begin in the whole country and the people begin to defy government laws and orders
