Doctrine of laspe is introduced by lord dalhausie . This policy is an annexation policy . According to this policy if an indian ruler died without a male succesor the kingdom would end up and then this kingdom is under controled of british/ east india company. Many kingdoms were annexed by implementing this policy. Sambalpur, Satara, Jhansi etc were annexed by implementing this policy
