Himalayas are the one of young fold mountains falling from Pakistan to North - East India .

In history they are recent and is beleived to be derived from a sea!..Its formation was due to a hit of tectonic plates of india and Tibet .

The most amazing fact is it keeps rising every year! 

It comprises of highest peak in the world which is mount everest 

The benefit for Indian subcontinent is that the Himalayas stops the frigid winds of central Asia and thus giving India a tropical touch

its average height is 600-600 metres high

himlaya acts as a frontier barier and comprises of passes

It is sub divided into three ranges :Lesser Himalayas Sivaliks Greater Himalayas
