Ali brothers- Mohammed Ali and Shaukat Ali organized the Khilafat Movement in order to protest against the inequalities done to the Turkish people who had protested against Britain after the First World War. Turkey was significant to the Muslims because the Sultan of Turkey was also known as the Khalifa who is also the spritual leader of the Muslims.

The Khilafat administrators restraint the British government to treat turkey in the better way. Through this movement, Muslims were fascinated towards national movement in large numbers unitedly. The action becomes a part of the national movement. The Congress leaders participated in the agitation and promoted in organizing unity throughout the country.
