Mandal commission was set up on January 1 in a 1979 by Prime Minister Late Shri Mohan Raj Desai. the commission was headed by then members of parliament Bhindeswari Prasad Mandal from Bihar. Mandal Commission was started and pussed by forward by national zanta party . The Mandal Commission was setup to identify in the country various socially economically and educationally backward classes. the people belonging from these classes and castes where to be classified OBC SC ST then they were recommended for 27% reservation in jobs in government offices and public sector undertaking.
Mandal Commission took 11 parameters related to education of Mens and womens their ages at the time of marriage, just status number of Mens and womens who work on daily labours womens and mens who study up primary at 10th. standard the property value as compared to average answer..

MANDAL COMMISSION:-
•The Government of India had appointed a commission in 1979 under B.P Mandal so,it was popularly known as Mandal commission.
•This commission was appointed to identify the SEBC(Socially and educationally backward classes)In India and recommended steps for their advancement.
•In 1980,the commission submitted it's report and gave many suggestions.
•This report was discussed in Parliament but the necessary steps were not taken.
•When the leader of 'Janta Dal' Mr V.P Singh became the Prime minister he promised to implement Mandal commission.
•On 13th August, the Government of India issued an office memorandum and reserved 27% of the vacancy in Civil posts and services for the Socially and educationally backward classes.
•Due to this order widespread riots broke out in the country to oppose this order many people filed a number of cases in the courts.
•At the end Supreme court asked the who Government to modify the order and it was decided that rich people from the backward classes will not get such reservation.
