Meiosis is a process where a single cell divides twice to produce four cells containing half the original amount of genetic information. These cells are our sex cells – sperm in males, eggs in females. During meiosis one cell? divides twice to form four daughter cells.

⭕Meiosis is a special type of cell division in sexually-reproducing organisms used to produce the gametes, such as sperm or egg cells.

⭕ It involves two rounds of division that ultimately result in four cells with only one copy of each chromosome.

⭕ It activates the genetic information for the development of sex cells and deactivates the sporophytic information.
