Answer:

A monsoon is a seasonal shift in the prevailing wind direction, that usually brings with it a different kind of weather. Monsoon rains begin to recede from North India at the beginning of October. South India typically receives more rainfall. India actually has two monsoons –- the southwest monsoon and the northeast monsoon. The southwest monsoon, which is the main monsoon, comes in from the sea and starts making its way up India's west coast in early June. Indian monsoon, the most prominent of the world's monsoon systems, which primarily affects India and its surrounding water bodies. It blows from the northeast during cooler months and reverses direction to blow from the southwest during the warmest months of the year.
