NPP or the National Population Policy, 2000 
The main objectives of the National population policy are: 

a. It provides for imparting free and compulsory  school education up to 14 years of age. 
b . It aimed at reducing infant mortality rate to below 30 per 1000 births. 
c . Attain universal immunisation of all children against all vaccine preventable diseases., 
d. Promoting family welfare programme.
e. The National population policy affirms the commitment of government towards voluntary and informed choice and consent of citizens while availing of reproductive health care services. 
f . Target free approach in administering family planning services. 
g . Attain cent percent registration of marriage, births and deaths. 
h . Prevent and control communicable diseases. 
i. Promoting delayed marriage for girls.
j. Identify adolescent groups who require greater attention.

They are :-
