Nomadic Herding – the wandering, but controlled movement of livestock, solely dependent on natural forage – is the most extensive type of land use system. Sheep and goats are the most common with cattle, horses and yaks locally important.

Nomadic herding is a ecological system of agriculture or simply it can be said as a type of agriculture in which people called as nomads move from place to place in search of proper shelter,food for them and their animals and also to exange products and sell them. Nomads are the tribes who move from place to place in search of pastures for their animals are known as nomadic herders.

nomadic herding is mainly practised in arid and semi arid regions of sahara in Africa central Asia and in some parts of India like Rajasthan and jammu and Kashmir. The animals like sheep, goats, camel and yaks are reared for their products like milk and meats. And some other products like wool and hides which is used to make clothes and shelter.
