Non-co-operation and Khilafat movement.

Explanation:

  • Non-cooperation movement was launched on 4 september 1920 by Gandhi with the aim of total independence. Indians were asked to quit their titles and resign from nominated seats in local bodies, and were asked to resign from their government jobs, they also boycotted foreign goods and used Indian goods.It was peaceful and non-violent protest against British Government.
  • Khilafat movement was an agitation by Muslims in India allied with Indian nationalism in the years following world war I, it aimed at making pressure on the government  to preserve the authority of the Ottoman Sultan as Caliph of Islam following the breakup of the Ottoman Empire at the end of the war.
