Answer:

*The spherical round body present in the centre of the cell is called nucleus.

*It is an important component of the living cell.

*Nucleus is separated from the cytoplasm by a membrane called the nuclear membrane.

*The nuclear membrane is porous and allows the movement of materials between the cytoplasm and nucleus.

*The nucleus consists of a spherically shaped dense mass called nucleolus. Nucleus also contains thread-like structures called chromosomes. These carry genes and help in inheritance or transfer of characters from the parents to the offspring.

  • A membrane-bound organelle found in eukaryotic cells is the nucleus (plural nuclei; from Latin nucleus or nuculeus, meaning kernel or seed).
  • Although most eukaryotes have a single nucleus, certain cell types, such as human red blood cells, have no nuclei, while others, such as osteoclasts, contain several nuclei.
  • The nuclear envelope, a double membrane that encloses the entire organelle and isolates its contents from the cellular cytoplasm, and the nuclear matrix (which includes the nuclear lamina).
  • a network within the nucleus that provides mechanical support, similar to how the cytoskeleton supports the cell as a whole, are the two main structures that make up the nucleus.
