Mehrunnissa, an Iranian where do received the title of Nur Jahan (Light of the world) soon after her marriage to Jahangir. She was extremely influential and had a say in court politics. Also silver coins were minted which showed Jahangir's name and title on one side and Nur Jahan's title on the other. She retired from public life after her husband's death.
