Hello friend...

first of all Let's talk about the blood
______________________________
BLOOD - It's a fluid connective tissue which helps in transport of respiratory gases, nutrients, hormones, excretory wastes and antibodies.
It consists of -
(i) Plasma - It forms the matrix of blood. It contributes about 55% of total blood.
(ii) RBC - It is also known as Erythrocytes.
(iii) WBC - It's another name is Leucocyte. It contains immunity cells.
(iv) Platelet - They are also known as Thrombocytes. They are responsible for blood clotting.

Here is your answer -

RBC / RED BLOOD CORPUSCLES / ERYTHROCYTES -
They are formed in bone marrow. The process of formation of RBC is known as Erythropoiesis which is stimulated by a hormone "Erythropoietin" secreted by Kidneys. Erythropoiesis requires Vitamin B12, Folic acid and iron.
RBCs are enucleated (without nucleus), circular and biconcave. It's dimeter is about 7.5 micrometre and thickness is about 2 micrometre.
Normal Count -
In healthy adult - 5 - 5.5 million/mm^3 of blood.
In foetus - 6.7 million/mm^3 of blood. (approx.)
* Haematocyometer is a device used to count the number of RBCs.
Low RBC count is termed as Erythrocytopenia.
High RBC count is termed as Polycythemia.
RBC contains red coloured respiratory pigments known as HAEMOGLOBIN. Blood is red due to presence of Haemoglobin. Haemoglobin helps in transport of respiratory gases. Haemoglobin can carry both oxygen and carbon dioxide molecules. Each Haemoglobin can carry 4 molecules of oxygen.
Life span of RBC is about 120 days.
