Rowlatt Acts, (February 1919), legislation passed by the Imperial Legislative Council, the legislature of British India. The acts allowed certain political cases to be tried without juries and permitted internment of suspects without trial.

Rowlatt act also known as Black act was passed during British government under by SAT Rowlatt in 1919.

Rowlett act give more power to Britishers over Indians.

The jallianwala bagh massacre was happend because of movement against Rowlatt act which was lead by Mahatma Gandhi in April 1919.

In Rowlatt act Britishers can arrest any person on any suspicion. Rowlatt act allows the Britishers to jail protesters without any trial. They can arrest anyone on little suspicion and without warrent. If Britishers see anyone in a group of 3 or more they can arrest them as suspicious according to Rowlatt act. Rowlatt act was opposed by all Indian leaders and freedom fighters.
