Answer:

Satellite cities are smaller cities that are near to a large city that is the center of a metropolitan area. They are different from suburbs, subdivisions and bedroom communities because they have their own centre. Satellite cities could be separate cities outside of the larger metropolitan areas.

Explanation:

Satellite cities come up to supply resources to fulfill the needs of the main city . They also act as areas of relatively reasonably priced residential accommodation for the labour force working in the main city.

search satellite cities have come up around Mumbai, Delhi , Kolkata , Chennai , Pune and Bengaluru in India . Therise in population due to the movement of people to larger cities has led to the growth of satellite towns and cities. Besides , decongestion , satellite cities provide job opportunities, better housing and less populated environment to live in. Satellite towns are different from suburbs as they have their own municipality and are self sufficient.
