Short note on the election campaign :-
The president of India sets the ball rolling by announcing the next elections. The Chief Election Commissioner then announces the dates for the next elections. The Election Commissioner also allots symbols for the different political parties. Each party holds meetings to select their candidates, decide what their election manifesto would be, arrange for funds and plan their course of action for campaigns. They then launch their election campaign. Posters and banners are used to appeal to the people to vote for the candidate. Campaign ends at 6 pm two days before the polling day.
