the slave trade which began in the 17th century was a tringular trade between europe,africa and the americas the slaves were brought from the African coast buy French merchants who sailed from the ports of bordeau or nantes these slaves shackled and branded were taken by ships across the Atlantic to the colonies in the caribbean-Martinique, guadeloupe and san domingo the abolition of slavery was the most important measure taken by jacobin regime this was reintroduced by napoleon.
