Write a short note on the trade winds. What are the effects of trade winds on the climate of India?

Trade winds are the winds which blow in the tropics near the equator. They blow from northeast in the northern hemisphere and from southeast to southern hemisphere. These winds were analyzed and used by the sailors and traders, which is why they are known as trade winds. 

These trade winds when laden with moisture cause rainfalls and then this phenomena is known as monsoon.

The easterly winds that blow near the equator is called trade wind. 
During the summer season, the south east trade winds pass through the equator from the south east direction. This is due to the heating in the northern plains. these trade winds are loaded with moisture so when they replace the northern wind, it causes rain.
