Tipu Sultan was born on December 10,1750.He was the son of Sultan Hyder Ali of Mysore and his wife Fatima Fakhr-un-Nisa. He was also a scholar, soldier and poet.Tipu Sultan was popularly known as 'Tiger of Mysore' .He was an extremely active man and worked hard for the welfare of his subjects.He built a chain of excellent roads and constructed tanks and dams to promote agriculture.
