freshly harvested grains are storedwithout drying they may get spoilt or attacked by microorganisms, loosing their germination capacity. Hence, before storing them the grains are properly dried in the sun to reduce moisture in them. This prevents the attack by insects, pests, bacteria and fungi.

                Treatment of grains before storing:

There are two events for which grains are stored, firstly grains are stored for in need of food shortage, vegetables can’t be stored for a longer time but grains can be stored, in the events of drought, famine or war.

Grains are the staple food source and second in case of transporting from one place to other to grow certain crops which are absent from that place it’s been exported to.

Before storing the grains are washed, cleaned and dried off to remove any moisture present in them, the quality of grains improve further if the storage area is air sealed, further grains are stored in bags or container to improve their shelf life and also fitted with natural and organic pesticides to prevent insect invasion.
