Answer:

Xylem tissue is used mostly for transporting water from roots to stems and leaves but also transports other dissolved compounds.

Phloem is responsible for transporting food produced from photosynthesis from leaves to non-photosynthesizing parts of a plant such as roots and stems.

Explanation:

xylem is a complex permanent tissue that conducts water and mineral upward from to plant it is also known as wood.

xylem consists of four types of elements.

VESSELS - vessel is a cylindrical tube like structure that are placed one above the other end to end. it is a non living cell with lignified walls.

TRACHIEDS are long tubular dead cells with lumen and tapering ends.the cell wall is thick with lignin.

XYLEM FIBERS are long non living cells with very thick lignin deposition on walls.they have narrow lumen.

XYLEM PARENCHYMA are living cells with cellulosic cell wall. they help in storage of starch .

Phloem transport food from leaves to other parts of the plant .expect for phloem fibres, phloem cells are living cell
