Answer:

⇒ Xylem tissue is used mostly for transporting water from roots to stems and leaves but also transports other dissolved compounds.

Phloem is responsible for transporting food produced from photosynthesis from leaves to non-photosynthesizing parts of a plant such as roots and stems

Plants have transport systems to move food, water and minerals around. These systems use continuous tubes called xylem and phloem.

Xylem carries water and minerals from the roots to the leaves while Phloem carries sugar & other organic nutrients made by plant from the leaves to the rest of the plant.

Answer:

Phloem is a complex permanent tissue. It is made up of four types of elements: sieve tubes, companion cells, phloem fibres and the phloem parenchyma. Sieve tubes are tubular cells with perforated walls. Phloem transports food from leaves to other parts of the plant. Except for phloem fibres, all the phloem cells are living.

Xylem is a type of transport tissue in vascular plants which transports water and soluble mineral nutrients from the roots of the plant to its various parts like leaves, stems etc.

FUNCTION OF XYLEM

The main function of xylem is to transport water from the roots to the various parts of the plant which is necessary for the proper functioning of the plant.
