Chanu was a lovely young Punjabi girl who loved her life! She was just 18 and still in college and was famous throughout her family and friends as the person who can make anyone laugh!
She was the light of the party.
However, Chanu's life took an uncertain turn when she started her second semester. One of the most good looking boys in the school became her friends. He was the perfect boy next door but unknown to Chanu, this boy only had bad intentions for her. He wanted to use her and then throw her away like the many previous girlfriends he did before her.
Chanu was just friends with this boy, but as a young girl, her heart started to slowly melt for him. Eventually, they started going out and she eventually, gave him more than a naive Punjabi girl should.
However, unlike other girls, Chanu was different and this boy actually started to love her. He stopped smoking, drinking and going out with other girls and actually became a changed man.
In all of this, Chanu's father, announced her wedding with his best friend's son. Chanu was devastated and did not know what to do.
This was the first time she ever fell in love and how her beloved father wanted her to marry someone else.
The boy, in desperation even asked her to run away with him and get married somewhere else.
However Chanu knew her values and traditions, against all odds, she gave up on the boy, told him how much she loved her father and eventually married where her father wanted her to.
