Answer:
I had packed my baggage and arranged a cab to the railway station. It was a wonderful Monday morning until, there was a traffic jam on the way to the railway station. The trail of the vehicles was endless. I was getting late but finally I reached he railway station. The train had nearly left, would I have been a minute late, the train would have been missed.
I boarded the train and got seated relaxed on my seat after an hour of hurry. I was ready for the fifteen-hour journey. I had been thinking that I will miss the train and my best friend’s marriage ceremony. If I had missed the train I would have had to wait 1 week for the next train. I felt relaxed now, and started listening to music and I hit the sack.
When I opened my eyes two hours later the ticket collector was looming over me. I gave him the ticket and he inspected the ticket with intense eyes. He told me that I had boarded the wrong train, I took it as a joke but the ticket collector was not joking. Now, I was furious. He told me the destination of this train is three-hundred kilometers away from my friend’s hometown and the ceremony was planned for day after tomorrow. I had been planning the whole week for the marriage ceremony, buying suits and booking train tickets and it all went wrong by just boarding a different train. The collector was asking for the penalty fees and I started arguing with him.
Hearing our conversation an old aged man from the front seat offered me help. I thought that I had misinterpreted him but I had not. He said that his trip was planned suddenly so he boarded this train and had arranged a taxi till my desired destination. I was on the top of the world and was ready to pay thousands of penalty fees. The journey was not only a wonderful story but also a lesson “Better three hours soon than a minute too late”.
