'It was very hot last night .I slept with my windows open. At around 2 a.m., I heard a loud noise. I immediately woke up. Since it was dark inside, I could not detect the source of noise. However, I could clearly feel there was someone inside the house. ‘May be a thief had entered the house’, thought I. I weighed up my options; I decided to wake up my dad first. Interestingly, the noise kept coming from the kitchen.
I tiptoed to my parents’ bedroom, quietly opened the door and woke my father up as quietly as was possible. Then I explained the situation to him; he chided me for keeping the windows open while sleeping. We decided to face the situation alone. We both went to the kitchen without making any noise. As we neared the kitchen, we could still hear some activity going on.
We reached just outside the kitchen. My father switched on the kitchen light from outside. And look! A monkey rushed past us. He was holding some fruits from the fruit basket in the kitchen. We chased it. Seeing us, it got scared and scampered faster. It ran to my bedroom, and jumped outside through the open window. My father shut the window. Wondering at the incident, both of us went to bed.
