Answer:

We’ve all heard that phrase being repeated over and over, a constant reminder to us that people are more than what they actually seem. However, as opposed to books, we cannot simply flip the pages of someone’s life and read their thoughts and feelings at our leisure. It’s how they present themselves to the world that gives us an insight of what is going on in their heads.

Think about this for a second. Anyone can go into a shop. Anyone can buy a certain item of clothing. Two random people in the world who would never meet can have the same sense of fashion. But no two people are entirely the same personality-wise.

No one can deny this: looks attract people at first. But does it really matter after getting to know that person, not really. Personality is what truly matters in the end because it is the thing that no matter the time, no matter the season, remains constant.

Use the shop example again. You are attracted to what catches your eye at first, but in the end, you buy the thing that lasts. And personality is the thing that lasts.Looks are superficial. They don’t really say a thing about who somebody who actually is. You know what looks are? A combination of genes: something that nobody can control. Deciding on who somebody is how they look doesn’t do you any good. No one can help what they look like. Firstly we need to accept the way we look and the way we are, then we can present ourselves confidently in front of the world and prove them that looks are not everything.

“Dress the way you want to be addressed.”

Because of looks, it is hard for some people to be taken seriously. Some people have good looks, high IQ, athletic ability – but instead of them being praised on all of their other, and quite frankly more importantly, achievements, they are complimented on something that adds no value to them overall.

‘How we look is unimportant, it’s what on the inside that counts.’ This is something that has been argued for years, decades: centuries even. Some people agree with it, some people don’t. Looks don’t really matter in the long run, but they do have a part to play in the way people see you.

It's high time we recognise where our world is today, and be honest with ourselves. Because if we do not, and just continue to harp that it is " what's on the inside that counts" , i worry that our world will only become uglier and more distorted and superficial and move further away from the truly beautiful place that it is and the beautiful people we are.

We've all heard that statement repeated time and over again, as a continual reminder that individuals are more than they appear. We cannot, however, turn the pages of someone's life and read their thoughts and feelings at our leisure, as we do with books. It's how they exhibit themselves to the outside world that reveals what's going on within their thoughts. What matters is what is on the inside, not how we look.' This is a topic that has been debated for years, decades, and even centuries. Some individuals agree with it, while others disagree. In the long run, appearances don't matter, but they certainly influence how others perceive you.

It's past time for us to acknowledge where we are in the world now and be honest with ourselves. Because if we don't, and instead continue to preach that "it's what's on the inside that counts," I'm afraid our world will grow uglier, more warped, and shallow, and we will drift further away from the truly lovely place it is and the magnificent people we are. Some people find it difficult to be taken seriously because of their appearance. Some people have good looks, a high IQ, and athletic skill, but instead of being rewarded for all of their other, and really more important, accomplishments, they are complemented on something that adds little value to them in the long run.
