Speech On Independence Day

Good morning/Good afternoon one and all present here. I'm extremely honoured to be speaking on the Independence Day.

15th August 1947 was the day when India got Independence, and today we complete 73 years of independence. India was conquered by Britishers in 1858. Indians were treated mercilessly. The Jallianwala bagh incident (1919) where hundreds of people were killed during the festival of Baisakhi by the Britishers, 23rd march 1931 when bhagat singh was hung to death by them and many such incidents raise a feeling of melancholy in each and every citizen of india even today. But my eyes are filled with pride as I think of the great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, Vallabhbhai Patel were born in India. These great leaders took countless initiatives for the freedom of india. The Champaran agitation for farmers who were forced to grow indigo was the first involvement of Gandhi into freedom indian politics. Dandi March or the Salt Satyagraha was also led by Mahatma Gandhi to oppose the British salt tax. As well as the famous speech quoted by Subhash Chandra Bose " Give me blood, I'll give you freedom", it meant that blood is the only one that can pay the price of freedom. He urged people to join in his mission of independence. These are only some I have mentioned but there are innumerable steps taken by the accountable leaders of india. This shows their love for their country. Thousands laid their lives so that our country can celebrate this day. We should be grateful to each one who joined the mission for independence of india dauntlessly. I would like to now conclude by stating that "saare jahaan se acha hindustan hamara". Happy Independence Day!

Thank you.

Please read the whole speech once, I have done a lot of hardwork for this speech for like 45 minutes, I didn't copy anything from Google. Everything is written by me.

Hope it helps :)
