Hooliganism has emerged as a serious problem among the youngsters, especially the school and college students. The Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary defines hooliganism as extremely noisy and violent behavior of youngsters in public.
The schools and colleges are facing this problem of hooliganism the most. Students often indulge in hooliganism in situations such as shifting of periods, breaks, or dispersal.
Hooliganism leads to various other problems such as unnecessary noise, wastage of physical energy, and disturbance for other classes. Hooliganism may lead to unnecessary scuffles or arguments between hooligans and studious students.
Hooliganism is a flaw which must be mended. It reflects poor moral training of the youngsters. Hooliganism reflects the absence of discipline, focus, concentration and misguided direction of purpose. Hooliganism and violence are negative qualities. They result in wastages of time, resources and energy.
The schools and colleges should make strict rules and regulations against hooliganism. Students who indulge in this evil, must be counselled and penalized if they don’t mend their ways.
