His father name is jainulabdeen and he was a strict father and avoids luxurious life.His mother is ashiamma . She has a helping tendency and Abdul Kalam cannot count the number people fed by his mother.They were living in mosque Street in a pucca house which was built in mid of nineteenth century which was their ancestors house .their house were built with the help is bricks and cement.
In 1939 the second world war broke out that time there was a demand for tamarind seeds abdul Kalams brother in law he distributed newspaper from that Abdul Kalam read the news about the war.he sold the tamarind seed and got his salary.He has three close best friends namely- ramanatha Sastry,sivaprakasan,Aravindan .pakshi lashmana Sastry was father of ramanatha Sastry and he was a night priest in rameswarma temple they were orthodox Brahmins family.lather ramanatha Sastry was also one of the priest in the temple.sivaprakasan was arranging transport for visiting pilgrim and Aravindan was working in southern railway.

Kalam was a very bright and hardworking student. He distributed newspapers in his locality to support his father. But he always had great interest towards studies; he was a very promising student and showed enormous likings towards science and mathematics. Dr. Kalam went to St. Joseph’s College after passing from school and attended Madras Institute of Technology to earn his degree in aeronautical engineering.After completing his education at the Schwartz Higher Secondary School, Ramanathapuram, Kalam went on to attend Saint Joseph’s College, Tiruchirappalli. During his college education, he was assigned a project to design a low-level attack aircraft with a group of few other students. The project was difficult to execute and on top of it, their professor guide gave them a very tight deadline to submit their project. They all worked hard together, working under high pressure, and finally managed to complete their project within the given deadline. The guide was highly impressed by Kalam’s dedication and hard work. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was 11th President of India(2002 to 2007). He was competing against Lakshmi Sahgal. He has been awarded with the awards like Bharat Ratna (in 1997), Padma Vibhushan (in 1990), Padma Bhushan (in 1981), Indira Gandhi Award for National Integration (in 1997), Ramanujan Award (in 2000), King Charles II Medal (in 2007), International von Karman Wings Award (in 2009), Hoover Medal (in 2009) and many more. He never married in his lifetime. Sadly on 27 July 2015, aged 83, Dr. Abdul Kalam collapsed and died from an apparent cardiac arrest while delivering a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management, Shillong. He spent his whole life in making India a better country in the field of science and technology. He always used to encourage the youth of India through his speeches, work, and writings. In his autobiography “Wings of Fire,” he shared his life experience with us.
