The term 'green city' refers to a city of greenery - that of trees, plants etc. while the therm 'clean city' refers to a city that is free from pollution and environment degradation. Both these terms are relative in nature. A city that has many trees planted all over will be free from environmental problems as trees help to purify the air and maintain the cycle of nature. When a city is kept clean it attracts the attention of tourists and visitors and earns a prominent place in the lives of its citizens.

It is within our own interest to grow more trees and contribute towards maintaining the ecological balance in nature. It is for us to keep our surroundings clean in every possible way. Only then will we be free from diseases and other such problems. Only then can be boast of our city being ideal one - a dream city of promise and hope.

Everyone wants to live in a cleaner environment. It does not matter if you live simply, or extravagantly, we all have the same goal, to live a long and healthy life. Many of us want to do what is best for the environment, but we do not know where to begin. We wonder what kind of impact we as people alone will have, and the cost of these goals will be. Can a normal citizen make a difference, or does it take a governor or celebrity, to make our goal happen.

In order to make the transition of what we have today to something we want tomorrow, in a clean, energy efficient economy, it does not matter if you are rich or poor, you can always do something to help the environment. Van Jones alone has made enormous contributions through his "eco-apartheid" plan. He took the poor and the wealthy, and by combining good ideas of both he was able to build a "path to prosperity" for a better future for blue-collared workers. By building this city around organic food, and solar panel instillations, he reached out to all, rich and poor. No one was left out of his anti eco-apartheid plan. His plan resulted in more jobs for those living in poverty. With his Green for All organization, he was able to include people of all color and all classes. With these jobs, more people were able to move into homes and take trips they were not able to before this increase of a salary. Van Jones is showing America that a green economy is an opportunity of a lifetime.
Hope it helps...
