I've heard this story several times, each time with the person telling the story claiming that they know the person who this happened to (one time it was a girl in my English class who wrote a paper on it, claiming it was a personal experience).  

Story: A woman is watching a dog for a family who's on vacation. One day she comes to the apartment to find the dog has died during the night. Horrified, she calls the family who tell her to bring it to the veterinarian so the dog can be cremated. The woman, however, lives in New York and doesn't have a car since she always takes the subway. Not wanting to carry a dead dog on the subway, she takes an old suitcase, packs the dog up inside, then heads for the train. The subway ride is fine but she runs into trouble when she gets off. The dog is really heavy and she can't get it up the stairs. A man offers to help her and together they drag the suitcase out of the subway. He asks her why its so heavy, and the woman lies saying she's moving and it's her computer. The man then grabs the suitcase and runs away with it. Neither him, nor the dog, is ever heard from again.  

I really want to know if this is true or not!
