The Shopkeeper :
a shop owner was returning from the market at late night. He had purchased goods to sell in his town. He was very happy as he got some discount by bargaining a little bit with retailer. He was expecting that he would make lots of money this time. On the way he met a man. The man seemed to be sad and asking for the lift. Since the Shopkeeper was in really should mood , he stopped his motorbike . The man tensed , he said to the Shopkeeper that he is really very tired and waiting for the past one hour for a car or vehicle to stop and provide him lift. Listening to the story ,Shopkeeper provided him a lift.
The road was silent and hushed. To make the midnight a little comfortable for both , Shopkeeper started asking some genuine questions like where he should stop the vehicle. After repeating the question several times , a voice popped silently and said 'near repair station'. The Shopkeeper nodded his head and asked a bit personal question that with how many people he live in his family. the man replied that he lives with his wife and two daughters. This made the Shopkeeper relaxed that he is travelling with a person who has a family. But the man didn't talked much.
After travelling few miles , when he stopped his bike to purchase a bottle of water what he saw has shocked him completely. There was not a single person who was travelling with him. What was that ? He quickly bought the bottle and splashed water on his face. After relaxing a little bit , he continued his journey.
At a point he met with the same man again but this time it was him who was asking for a lift from that man as his bike was punchured . The man without any hesitation , provided him the lift. And started asking some questions like where he should drop the Shopkeeper. The Shopkeeper replied that he want to reach the Kali Mandir . The man nodded his head and dropped him there. When the Shopkeeper was about to get into the Mandir. That man , pulled his collar towards himself. It was no time , the Shopkeeper started begging for a life.
The man shouted ' even I begged you to purchase the items at it's original price. did you ? Even I begged my wife for not committing a suicide because we didn't had money. Did she ? ' the Shopkeeper answered crying , but business is to bargain.
This was his last sentence he spoke from his bargaining mouth.
Today over 37% of happy family get destroyed because of the unemployment or low earning incomes. Poor people keep on becoming poorer and the rich one gets richer day by day. Even when we go to a small shop for example purchasing some daily need item like vegetables , we bargain a lot with poor Shopkeeper without knowing his personal situation and we call ourselves as "responsible citizen of India." A person earning in Lakhs per year and having savings in crores bargains for a cheap Rs 20. isn't that illogical ?
