There is a hole in the sky where the moon used to be. I did not notice the hole during the day time. However, when it was around 7 pm, I stepped out to go to the shop near by. As I stepped out, I looked up at the sky and saw many stars twinkling. Suddenly, there was a big hole and it looked as if the stars would fall into it. As I returned home, I wondered what could have caused the hole. The moment I reached home I called my Mom and showed her the hole in the sky. She was also surprised at the sight. But, then suddenly it struck her that the moon was missing. She pointed this out to me. It was then I realized that I had not seen the moon that day unlike other days.

I kept wondering what happened and started crying because I missed the moon. Suddenly, I felt something rubbing against me. At first, I did not pay heed to it. But, when the rubbing continued, I could not turning to see what it was. I turned round and got the shock of my life. It was a silver white ball with a few black random patches. It seemed very familiar to me and all of a sudden I realized that it was the moon! I took it in my hands and hugged it tight. Then I asked the moon what made it roll down to near me. The moon smiled and said that it had observed me admiring it every day. So, it had come to see me and thank me for the same. I showed the moon the hole it had created in the sky. The moon said that it would go back on the condition that I threw it high up. I agreed and did so accordingly. The next moment when I looked up, there was no hole and the moon was in its place. It smiled and waved at me. I did the same and went inside my house.

The next night, sohan said to his mother, "mom, I am just coming in two minutes". And he went up to the roof, to see the moon. He looked into the sky, and saw that the moon is half. He ran down the stairs, and told his mother,that "mom, somebody has eaten up half of the moon". His mom said, "sohan , it's too late now, let us go to bed." But, sohan keep on thinking, that who would have eaten the moon? He looked the moon , the whole night . Then the next evening, sohan was eagerly waiting for the moon to come. And today the moon was in crescent shape. Sohan got confused and went up to his mom, and told her mother that," mom, do you know?the man eat the whole moon, and now only a Small crescent part of the moon is left, we will have to save the moon". His mother said, sohan eat your food fast and complete your homework."sohan got angry and went to sleep. The next night was a surprising night for sohan , because that night the moon didn't come. Sohan cried out and started weeping too much. His mother came and on being asked the reason, sohan said that," mom , the moon is now dead" the bad man ate the whole moon"and started crying more loudly. Her mother said ," sohan , it's not that, what you are thinking. Actually the moon is a family of some people and everyday few of them go to picnic and today all the family has gone." Sohan listened to his mother carefully. Then she said, tommorow they all will come again". The next night , sohan saw that, the full moon was there and he became happy, kissed his mother and the next morning, he told the story to all of his friends.
