I was enjoying my birthday bash in goa with my friend and pm Modi announced lock down. All of us had to evacuate the hall where we had party. The security was very uncompromising. We had to spend the rest of the day in my hotel. And there were literally so many people in my room. All the 32 people in my party were squeezed into my tiny room. There was obviously a minor shortage of food, and couldn't go out to buy some due to lockdown.
We didn't have anything to play with like cards or any other boring stuff. And since we had come from a far place, we couldn't go back there immediately. The Goa trip was supposed to be 5 days long. And all of us had to adjust the five days in a small, stinky, boring room!
We had no other choice. Every morning we had a fight about who would go to the washroom first. My friends were pretty cooperative but as you know, small fights always happen.
I hesitated to eat the hotel food, as it wasn't safe in this condition. There was a slight chance of the food to get contaminated by viruses. But I didn't have a mini stove with me to cook food. Neither I had any ingredients with me. Unwillingly I had to order food from the hotel. My friends also had to do so.
The funny part was that all our plans were cancelled. The fun we expected to have in Goa was shattered into pieces. We all dreamt of the beautiful beaches, exotic sunsets, and luxurious resorts. Surprisingly none of us booked a hotel. We all were dependent on each other. And this is what true friendship is supposed to be. But it wasn't helpful at all in this case.
After the immediate announcement of the lock down, I had to take the responsibility of booking a hotel quickly. I couldn't get any for a low price, and this is what I had chosen, a shabby, small hotel. My friends still blame me about my decision of choosing that place.
This trip was obviously memorable, but not the kind of memorable I expected before the trip.
