THE MISER AND THE FARMER
This is a story of a small village. Once upon a time, lived a miser in the village lost his bag of gold coins. He was very sad and quiet disappointed,was not enjoying any of his task. At last, he come across a thought to concern to headman of the village, after listening his querry headman issued a notice, "the person who finds the bag will be rewarded with ten gold coins."
Now it so happened, that a poor farmer found bag of gold coins and reported this to miser, and ask for his reward of ten gold coins. The miser checked the bag and said" dear friend you are very clever man. you have already taken your reward from this bag.
The farmer was surprised and said, "but sir i have not opened the bag at all"
Both of them reported their case to headman of the village and asked him to settle their dispute and give them justice. The headman asked the miser , “how many gold coins were there in your bag?” Miser replied, a hundred and ten, sir
To check miser, headman took the bag in his hand and emptied it and counted gold coins in presence of court.
And fond exactly hundred gold coins, then headman asked the farmer. how many gold coins did you take from this bag? The farmer replied, “sir, i have returned the bag without even opening it. I have not taken a single coin from it.”
Headman gave his vise decision, looking at miser that according to you, there were a hundred and ten gold coins in your bag. But there are only hundred in this bag.
This proves that the bag does not belongs to you and we will continue the search for your lost bag.
The headman gave the bag of coins to farmer and said, “this is the reward for your honesty.” Farmer was very happy with headman’s judgment and poor miser returned home empty handed.
