This is an incident from my primary school days. One day our teacher left the class for a short while and gave the students some class work to complete till he returned. We were engrossed in completing the task when suddenly I saw a cow entering the school premise to graze. I showed it to my friend sitting next to me and we both decided to chase the cow out of the premise.
We went out of the class running towards the cow. The poor cow was grazing away to her heart’s content oblivious of our approach. Both of us grabbed the tail of the cow and before chasing it out decided to have some fun. So we started pulling the tail with full force. Sensing trouble the cow wanted to move out of the complex and started to pull away from the tug of war game, mooing frantically. But we would not relent and pulled her tail in the opposite direction with more force. This went on for about 2-3 minutes or so and we were having great fun.
Suddenly both of us felt that someone else had joined the fun game. This person suddenly came, caught hold of our ears and then starting pulling hard. For a fraction of second, the scene was such that both of us were pulling the tail of the cow and the third person with both his hands was pulling our ears very hard, kind of a “3 in 1 Tug Of war”. Unable to bear the pain, we screamed, let go the cow’s tail and looked back to see to our horror that it was our class teacher.
The entire class broke into a roar of laughter. My ears pained a lot and they became quite warm from the frictional pull force of our teacher but every time I think back about the incident, it is not possible to avoid a smile on my face.
