My joy knew no bounds when I stumbled on a suitcase full of Rs.1,000/- notes. I did not know what to do. At first, I thought of handing over the box to the police. But, then I decided not to as I was afraid the police would not believe that I found the suitcase on the road. So, I decided to put the money to good use. I sat and thought what I would do with the money. Finally, I made a list of the to-do things.
I decided to donate a good amount to a few orphanages and old age homes. After that, I would donate some money to a few NGOs working towards women empowerment. I will also make a donation to agencies working for betterment of patients suffering from diseases like AIDS and cancer. Then I will give some money to families for educating their children who are not able to go to school.
I was very happy with what I had planned to do. It was then that I suddenly realized that I could not use even a Rs.1,000/- note. This is because Rs.1,000/- note has been demonetized by our Prime Minister and using those notes are illegal.
