Answer:
The Memory that Haunts
Explanation
In the summer of 2019, I went to Shimla along with my classmates and teachers as our school excursion. After a fabulous trip, we were returning by train. We had our dinner early and went to sleep as we all were very tired. Suddenly there was a loud crash and such a huge jerk that most of the passengers got thrown out of the seats. All the lights went off, there was darkness everywhere. I got my head bumped and felt warm blood rolling down the forehead.
There were cries everywhere. I tried to move but I couldn't. I heard people shouting for help. Suddenly I heard the voice of my teacher who was consoling us not to panic. Though I couldn't see her in the darkness, her voice brought a sense of assurance within me. Time went by. I didn't have any idea how long I was in that situation. My head was aching. A feeling of nausea grabbed me. I felt like I was dying.
There was smell of blood everywhere. I tried to shout for some water. But no sound came out of my throat. After a long time I saw some lights coming towards us. They were the torchlights of the rescue team. Finally they had come to rescue us. After a lot of struggle, I was taken out from that darkness and became unconscious.
When I woke up, I found myself in the hospital surrounded by my parents and relatives. My heart was filled with joy to see them. Most of my classmates were also admitted there. But unfortunately, I lost four of classmates and two of our teachers in that dreadful train accident. Three years had passed, still the memory of that cursed day haunts me till now.
