Here , 2-bromo-3-methylbutane is formed.
The alkenes, when treated with HBr in the absence of peroxide, the addition of hydrogen take place on the basis of markownikoff's rule, which says that the negative part of the attacking reagent goes to that carbon of double bond where there are less number of hydrogen atoms.
In the presence of peroxide, antimarkownikoffs rule is applied, which says that the negative part of the attacking reagent goes to that carbon of double bond where there are more number of hydrogen atoms.
