Explanation:
The Kabuliwala is an Afghan Vendor, who comes every year from far-off Afghanistan to sell his ferrying items to for twelve years-when the narrator freed India. He was also a father of a daughter, much like the narrator's (an aristocratic Bengali novelist's) daughter Mini.He developed a very close friendship with her. He regularly had stock conversations & jokes with her. He won Mini's childish heart by giving he various items for free, to her. He was jailed for stabbing an unconfessed debtor, and was jailed him from prison. He was a very intent listener, for he always listened to Mini's constant chattering. On his first meeting with the narrator and Mini, he talked about various topics with him.

Rahamat is displayed with a powerful presence that indicates something underneath the surface. On face value, he is a fruit seller and Tagore describes him in an almost wanderer quality. The impression of him at the first description is that he is one that causes an immediate sense of fear in Mini, the child who is afraid that he captures children and places them in his large bag that he has across his shoulder. Over time, Tagore draws out his character as one who forges a bond with the little girl. He is committed to seeing her every day, "bribing" her with almonds and raisins.
