properties of metals are-

1)At room temperature all metals are solid expect mercury which is liquid.

2)metals are lustrous.

3)metals are malleable.means (can be beaten into thin sheets without breaking)

4)metals are ductile.means (can be drawn into thin wires without breaking)

5)metals are brittle.means (breaks into pieces when hammered).

6)metals have high melting and boiling point.

7)metals have good conductor of heat and electricity.

metals have high density.

metals are sonoruos means (that is they make 9)sound when they hut any surface).

10)metals are usually hard and strong expect sodium potassium and magnesium that are so soft that they can be easily cut with knife..

properties of non metals-



1)at room temperature non metals exists as
solid except bromine which is liquid.

2)They are not lustrous except graphite and iodine which are lustrous .

3)They are non mallleable and non ductile.

4)all non metals except graphite have low melting and boiling point.

5)non metals have low density.

6)they are poor conductor of heat amd electricity except graphite.

7)they are not sonorous.

8)they are usually soft except diamond.

9)they are brittle.
