(((Dear dis story giv my frnd write now)))
I remember that night as it was a dramatic end to an otherwise regular day.
I left my office at 9:30PM after an awesome dinner with my colleagues, from Ambattur, Chennai. My finel destination was Pallavaram(P), Chennai. I was waiting at the Wavin bus stand for 147 route buses that would get me to Nungambakkam railway station from where I would catch a local train to Pallavaram railway station.
The otherwise busy route was rather sull that day. I waited half hour only to get a different bus to another railway station - Guindy. Later I got to know I would be dropped at Guindy bus depot and will have to walk half a kilometer for the railway station.
That walk made me extremely paranoid as in an otherwise peaceful city, it felt extremely eerie for reasons unknown. Something in my mind said I should have stayed in my room in Ambattur and traveled to my uncle's the next morning.
But keeping this voice in my head mum I got into the train without any problem and there were a lot of people there.
When I reached an interim station Meenambakkam(M), I called my uncle.
"I am Meenambakkam uncle, please start for the station(P) soon."
"Yeah no worries, I'll see you there."
I reached Pallavaram and started waiting on the foot-over bridge till my uncle arrived. Now people who have been there know how busy that stop is, but that day, it was like death's pivate day of a night walk; not a single soul in sight except for a small family. The father of that family went downstairs towards the street to look for a ride home while the kid and his mom waited upstairs.
About 5 minutes later, with somewhat a frightened face, the mother picked her kid up in a jiffy and brisked her way down the stairs.

Next thing I see was a gang of half a dozen boys walking towards the exit. They had to cross me along the way. They looked normal in size. An otherwise alert me was somewhat distracted that day, probably because I was on a high on food. I did not analyse them or their palms for any weapons neither did I turn my face towards them and let them pass from behind where they would be out of sight while they pass. But I kept looking at them from the corner of my eye.
Their shadows started passing me by. I started counting them.

Sss.. where's the last one?
And there was the last shadow I was waiting to pass by, but I saw it's right hand going up.
I assumed the last guy would tap on my shoulders to ask me directions. I turned the other way, away from him as that side I was expecting to be addressed from and then, BAM! He punched me square on my chin. My glasses flew off and then another punch next to my eye.
I was down. I was in shock, still under belief that I was standing erect and this was all just my imagination until I got another one, this time on my lower lip.
Next thing I remembered was the very recent murder that occurred not far away, at Tambaram(T) railway station (Tambaram murder took place in vicinity of two police stations). My immediate thought was: it was the same gang in operation. The attack came in almost the same hour as that murder.
Then another punch. I was circled by the six thugs.
I tried to stand up taking support from one of them guys' jeans but I was punched down again. I saw his white sports shoes and that's the only visual of that "fight" I remember. That's when I guess my survival instincts kicked in and nope, I didn't hit back or anything, I just threw my hand at one of the blurred faces I saw and it hit him somewhere on his face, below the nose is my guess.
This shook them up a little and I saw a tiny gap between two of them, to my luck that gap faced the exit staircase.
I ran through it like a gazelle would through the grasslands.
I was too stupid to halt half-way down the staircase, look back and ask - "What happened?"
My question prompted them to start to chase me but then they saw a few autos lining up next to the street and they turned away and walked off.
To salvage my manhood, I went back up and grabbed my glasses, one of which was broken; and stood next to the autos.
My uncle arrived. Finally. When I called him, he heard I was at Nungambakkam which is about 8 stops away and not Minambakkam which is 2 stops away.
The best thing that day was he got to watch his favorite show till the end before he started from his home.
