Autotrophs - The organisms which can make their own food with the help of inorganic sources. The word auto means "self" and troph means "food".

  • Example - Green plants, algae and bacteria.

  • They are also known as producers.

  • Digestion process is absent in autotrophs.

  • Chlorophyll is present in autographs.

Additional information -

Nutrition - It is the process of transfer of energy source in the body of living organisms.

Hetrotrophic nutrition - The heterotrophs can't make their own food, they are dependent on the autograph for their nutrition.

Types of Hetretrophic nutrition -

  • Holozoic nutrition is occurs in Amoeba and human being.

  • Saprotrophic nutrition is occurs in Fungi.

  • Parasitic nutrition is occurs in licks, lice and leech etc.
