Blue star is the name of a leading multinational or Indian company that manufactures Air conditioners and refrigerators. It has been there since three or four decades or more. They are classified as O-type stars. They radiate energy very fast with high intensity. So their lifespan is shorter than other less bright stars.

There are many blue stars in the universe in many galaxies. The radiation is caused by nuclear fusion chemical reactions. They emit visible light and are clearly seen by naked eye.

Blue star is the name of the military operation in Punjab during 1984. There were many terrorists, militants and suspected anti-nationals hiding inside the Golden temple in Amritsar. They were carrying many guns and armory. It was Jarnail singh Bhrindranwale and his men. They hid inside the Harmandir Sahib complex.

The then prime minister Indira Gandhi ordered Indian army to surround the Golden temple and capture the hiding persons. Many fires were exchanged. Many militants were dead.  The then central minister Buta singh was blamed for allowing this operation. The army soldiers took of their shoes while entering the Golden temple, as it is treated as sacred.

Punjab people and politicians opposed this military operation. Congress government faced severe criticism and opposition in Punjab for this.  However, it was shown and proved that national integrity and anti-national elements are suppressed wherever they hid.

Indian army was careful not to damage the temple. Still some walls and parts of the temple were hit by the bullets. The nation was surprised by the unthinkable hideout that militants chose. It was also known that militants are being trained and sent out to damage India. It was happening from Punjab and borders with Pakistan.

Unfortunately Indira Gandhi was shot by a sikh who was her protector gunman. It was directly the consequence of the grudge that grew in the minds of sikhs against her. They despised her for killing militant punjabis and for the army invading into their sacred temple.

Her killing also indicates that people do not see the view point from national perspective. They always get swayed away by local feelings of backing their community. Later for some time, punjabis felt shy and ashamed that some people of their community hid like bandits and fought against the national army.
