Blue vitriol is the commercial name for copper sulphate solution.
It is chemically copper sulphate pentahydrate .
Formula of blue vitriol is ----->
CuSO4.5H2O
It contains 5 molecules of water which are chemicallt combined to the molecule but gets detached on heating.
It is actually highly poisonous.

☆☆ If on the roadside markets you see shining bright red apples , be sure that it was kept or dipped in blue vitriol.
So never buy them and even if you buy them , be sure that you wash them properly before have them. ☆☆

Green vitriol is the commercial name for ferrous sulphate solution.
It is chemically ferrous sulphate heptahydrate .
Formula of blue vitriol is ----->
FeSO4.7H2O
It contains 7 molecules of water which are chemicallt combined to the molecule but gets detached on heating.
It is not poisonous.
It is sometimes used in some medicines for iron deficiency.

green vitriol.. a bluish-green, crystalline, saline-tasting, water-soluble heptahydrated solid.
